Give something GOOD – Visionary Soaps!
A few months ago I got a fragrant package of soaps and lip balms from the Visionary Soap Company. Now, I knew nothing about these products, even though they are now stocked in Waitrose! But, I do like to find out a bit about things I am sent.
Visionary Soaps are so named because they make their products using Fairtrade suppliers wherever possible. They are one of the first companies to launch Fairtrade certified beauty products and none of their products contain the ‘nasties’ of mass manufactured soaps and beauty products…no palm oil, synthetic dyes or fragrances, no parabens or petroleum based ingredients. They are just made with the finest vegetable oils and butters, essential oils and botanicals. So, all their products are fully certified by The Vegan Society and, cruelty-free.
A brief glance at the Visionary Soap website shows clearly how the company is also committed to value-added job creation both locally in Hastings, East Sussex and abroad. They have a number of innovative manufacturing partnerships with social enterprise training programmes in Africa and the UK.
But, of course, no one will buy products if they are not high quality.
I am hoarding my last bar of geranium rose soap at the moment. I love the smell. But the other bars that I was sent to test were simply gorgeous and clearly really good quality. I have quite sensitive skin and a tendency to eczema, but these were fine for me. And, the lip balms were tested for me by a young rowing friend. If they work on teenage lips on the Thames in winter, they are obviously going to work everywhere.
So another recommendation for Christmas presents…not only are you giving something nice, but you are helping to do the world some good too! They have a great range of gifts, including a rather fabulous bar of the month pack, where the lucky recipient will get sent a gift pack every month!
