Well, I’m not the best person to ask! But, I was offered an online style consultation the other day and tried out the ‘Style Goddess’ from iStylista. I’d love to go on Trinny and Suzanna, or Gok Wan’s show…but I really don’t have the nerve to get undressed on TV! So, an online Gok Wan is a great idea for me. I find London particularly daunting, even though I’ve lived here all my adult life. Some of the shop assistants are just so glamorous…and I’d really rather go in knowing what is going to look nice on me.
And, I was actually rather relieved to find I hadn’t got it all wrong. I’m a petite (ok SHORT) rather curvy lady who enjoys cooking and eats out far more than is good for her figure. But, I do have a waistline
‘Essential Styling Tip
Try to avoid splitting your upper and lower body
in half with contrasting colours. Your body shape
will look far better in single coloured items or
fabrics and patterns of a similar colour on both
halves. This will visually lengthen your body too.’
This sort of thing is REALLY useful…it’s what I thought I should do, but you know, even looking in a mirror doesn’t always tell you what you really look like.
And I can honestly say I have several dresses in this style (some in sizes that don’t always still fit me) in my wardrobe.
I really like my personalised guide. It takes into account my height, weight, age, figure shape, face shape, ‘problem areas’ and style preference…and comes up with the sort of recommendations that will cut my shopping time and hopefully mean I have fewer things lurking in the back of my wardrobe unworn. iStylista have given me 10 vouchers for my readers to get a free Style Goddess guide of their own. Since they retail at £30, it’s really worth entering this give-away and becoming a Style Goddess yourself! And then you know what? you will just have to get out there and SHOP!!!
