New Creations from Lindt and a little giveaway for you!
At the start of the month this email popped into my in-box:
“Hope you are well. I know you’re probably manic with Christmas this week but was wondering if you can make the attached event. We’re going to have a master Chocolatier over from Switzerland who will help you make your very own bespoke Lindt bar.”
Now, those who are food bloggers will understand that within the food industry July is infamous for Christmas previews. Most of the supermarkets preview what they will be doing and there are a stream of invites to press shows. How could anyone think that would be more fun than playing in Lindt’s very own chocolate factory though?
So, I went along to the Dorchester and was charmed by the master chocolatier who explained a little about his passion for chocolate and in particular for Lindt, before showing us how to make our very own creations bar.
He’d started with his passion at an early age, though not for chocolate itself, rather for the pretty shiny wrappers which he collected. He told us that as a child his collection became famous where he lived in Switzerland, and he was in the local paper. That got him an invite to the Lindt factory…and from that he trained as a chocolatier.
Lindt chocolate creations are not launched yet, but our chocolate class was designed to show us how the flavour combinations were developed. We were each given a mould and the opportunity to try the different fillings on offer and two chocolates. Then, we had to pick the combination we wanted in our own bar. The chocolate creations are quite deep bars and work very well with two or even three different fillings in addition to the chocolate itself!
One of the things I really liked about the bars was that they break up into neat squares that can be used as a substitute for a small box of chocolates. Rather a good idea if, like me, you want to be able to offer guests chocolate after a meal but know that if there are leftovers in a full size box they will all end up on your own hips (so to speak). They are the sort of bars you could keep in the cupboard for a special occasion and treat yourself to without (too much) guilt!
Anyway, the lovely people at Lindt have sent me the full collection of four bars to give to one of you! I can promise you they are really delicious. I’m making this giveaway as simple as possible, just tell me which of the four bars you think would be your favourite. You can check from the photos I’ve posted. And, if you want some extra entries, just share and tweet this competition and let me know you’ve done so using the rafflecopter.
