Best of British

Best of British – Final Month

Best of British, sponsored by New World Appliances is drawing to a close as we were offered a very generous six month of sponsorship.  It’s the Grand Final this month  and while we wait for   Karen over at Lavender and Lovage who has been running the contest for October – from Dorset to pick this month’s  winners (we have two prizes this month, thanks to Dorchester Chocolates) I thought it was worth announcing the grand final.

Rather than picking any one region, this month I am making it VERY easy for you by inviting you to enter your Best of British recipe from wherever you chose in the country.  Just tell us in the Blog what makes it special and where it is from. Remember to link back to this page and to the New World Appliances Site. You can also enter ANY of your previous Best of British entries by linking them up in the Linky so that I don’t miss you out!!!!

Recipes entered will be judged by Brian Turner, a great advocate of British Food who you might have seen on appearances on Ready Steady Cook and other TV shows. And the prize is an amazing £300 of Amazon vouchers! So Get Cooking!!!

Best of British Master

I’m planning on running this through till 10th December, so you have till then to link up all your previous recipes and enter something new if you like, that you think shows the absolute BEST OF BRITISH!

What a fabulous idea! When I think of British food the first thing to pop into mind is fish and chips, naturally. I’ll be interested to see all the dishes that are linked up here, and maybe even give them a try in my own tiny NY kitchen!:-)

Well I couldn’t really do anything else other than be patriotic and enter my Cornish splits – ALTHOUGH the Dorset apple cake was spectacular. Also I couldn’t enter Cornish splits for a prize first time around as I was hosting.
