Carom Curry Club – Warming Up Winter.
What a fabulous idea. If you are like me and inclined to grab a jar of curry paste rather than fret over a seemingly endless list of Indian spices, then learning how to do it properly in the hands of an expert might well appeal. Carom is a fabulous Indian restaurant in the heart of Soho that I’ve already visited – their food is excellent in the way that I really wouldn’t know how to re-create at home.
But maybe this is way for all of us to learn their secrets – why not check it out and spice up your January?
Pan-Indian restaurant and lounge, Carom (www.caromsoho.com) runs a monthly Curry Club so that you can learn how to make curry and start enjoying real Indian cookery at home! You’ll have a behind-the-scenes tour of the restaurant kitchen with Executive Chef Balaji Balachander, followed by a cocktail while enjoying a cooking demonstration at the chef’s bar. Then, best of all, you get to try the food that you’ve learnt how to cook. You will be seated to enjoy a gourmet three-course menu featuring the Curry of the Month – all for just £35 per person. And you’ll get a goody bag to take home including a jar of homemade Carom chutney and a selection of freshly prepared poppadoms.
The next session on 9th January is devoted to Chicken Biryani. The evening kicks off at 6.30pm with dinner served from 7.30pm.
Or, if you are in the ‘can’t cook won’t cook’ brigade and just want to try the food, well, book and turn up at 7.30pm and you’ll be able to sample the menu for £15 a head.
