The Belazu Foundation and Charity Dinner – Hix Mayfair:
A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to attend a charity dinner at The French Table. And, I learnt a little about the Belazu Foundation, set up over ten years to support rural schools in Morocco. They work closely with the Zakoura education foundation in Morocco to help children and young women in rural areas to receive an education and go on to earn an independent living more easily.
Every single penny that is raised by the Belazu Foundation is matched by the Belazu brand. This is just our way of giving something back to the country that provides us with some of our most premium and delicious ingredients.
The Foundation runs a series of dinners and supperclubs, working with restaurants where they have a strong relationship as suppliers, to ensure that as much money as possible can be raised for the Foundation. As I found out, it’s a great opportunity for a fun night out whilst supporting a great cause. Menus and wines are designed and selected by the chef at each venue and they have a fabulous list of places that they have worked with in the past and will be working with in the future. Each evening is hosted by George Bennell, founder of The Fresh Olive Company and Belazu – so everyone gets a real insight into the work of the Foundation itself as well as learning a little more about Belazu.
The next dinner is at Hix in Mayfair and promises to be a real treat. Your £90 ticket includes all the food for the evening, canapes, and wine. And, from personal experience it’s a great night out where you will meet a crowd of friendly people and eat and drink well too. Dinners DO sell out, so if you are interested, you are advised to book now!
