Moretti Gran Tour Hearn St, Shoreditch.

Well you never know what you are going to find when you turn down a dark alley and in this case it was a showcase of Italian street food, sponsored by the delightful people from Birra Moretti. Well, OK, I wouldn’t have turned down it if I hadn’t been invited, but I was still surprised at what I came across! Located in Factory 7 (a recently refurbished, Victorian factory), Birra Moretti have brought an Italian street party to East London.
This is a mini food festival, bringing together a selection of award winning street food vendors showcasing their creative foodie talents. You can sample small plates of food and watch various demonstrations of Pizzas, Pasta and Arancina being made before your eyes. In the case of the Arancina, you can even try your hand at making your own.
There was also a Charcuterie stall serving some delicious ham and parmesan, served by a gentleman with the best set of moustaches in London.
Given who the sponsors are, there is no shortage of beer to wash the food down with and you can round it all off with a lovingly made coffee (well it did have a heart in the froth) and a tasty Gelato. The Gelato came in a range of different flavours such as sour cherry and ricotta, lemon and sage and blood orange.
Every good party needs good music and this is provided by resident DJ’s Jimmy Plates and Sophie Lloyd.
Birra Moretti Gran Tour runs from 31st July-3rd August from 6PM-12AM Thursday, Friday, Saturday and 12PM-5PM Sunday in Factory Seven, London. Tickets cost £10 from Design My Night and include a Birra Moretti along with two plates of food, a traditional coffee and a Gelato.
