Australia House Pop-up Dining with Luke Rayment:
On Wednesday 24th September Tourism and Events Queensland, Australia is giving London a chance to experience the greatest cuisine the region has to offer. Hosted in Australia House, the very best in Australian food and wine produce will be showcased on the night, prepared by renowned chef Luke Rayment.
What does the night include?
Along with exclusive access into the stunning Australian High Commission in London, guests will enjoy sparkling Australian wine and beers on arrival and an incredible three course meal created by the top Australian chef. Each delicious dish will be inspired by Luke’s holiday memories of Queensland and matched with fine Australian wines, selected by Master of Wine Justin Knock.
During the night guests will have the chance to take part in a Q&A session with the chef and other Friends of Australia to learn more about the country’s mouth-watering food and wine, extraordinary holiday experiences and more.
In addition one lucky diner will WIN a business class holiday to Australia for two people to attend a very special gala dinner held at the Museum of Old and New Art in Tasmania, organised for 80 of the world’s leading foodies, and a trip to a second area of Australia to really get a taste for the fabulous flavours of Australia.
Luke Rayment’s Background
Rayment won a string of awards and medals early in his career, including Rising Young Chef of Queensland in 2001. In 2006, he moved to London and became Head Chef at Top Floor at Smith’s of Smithfield, before becoming Sous-Chef at the renowned Savoy Grill. In 2012, he took the role of Head Chef at Gordon Ramsay at Claridge’s, and is currently Executive Chef at the soon to open Mondrian Hotel in London.
