Launch of TwoRuba Bar at Hilton London Tower Bridge
Tooley Street has come a long way since I used to work there in the early 90’s. In those days, Hay’s Galleria was the showpiece of the newly developed London Bridge / Tower Bridge area and a walk too far up Tooley Street was pretty unrewarding. However, that has all changed over the past few years with the opening of More London Place, an award-winning development of office blocks, shops and restaurants in a pedestrianized area containing open-air sculptures and water features. Amongst this little haven is The Hilton London Tower Bridge. The other night I attended the launch party of their bar, TwoRuba, which is aimed at bringing an extra touch of glamour to the area.
The décor certainly has the wow factor and as soon as we arrived, our coats were taken away to the cloak room and a glass of Champagne placed in our hands. The slick service certainly adds to the charm.
The bar is open from breakfast through to the wee hours and for those who still have the stamina for such things, a DJ plays to the after work crowd on Thursday and Friday evenings. Food is served throughout the day and we sampled a selection from the evening snack menu. All inspired by the street food of Borough Market, we tried the Duck Liver Parfait, Salt & Pepper Squid and Pulled Pork Sliders and for the sweet element, the Mini Chocolate Fondant. I couldn’t fault any of them and the Duck Parfait was a particular treat.
For something more exclusive, The Snug can cater private parties of up to 25 people. A drinks package is available for parties of 10 or more, comprising of champagne magnums and bottles of premium spirits. Food packages are also available and to really get your party going you can hire a DJ and mixologist.
