Michelin starred chef, Paco Roncero to launch ‘The Domino Effect’ at the Cafe Royal:
In just a couple of days, the Club at Café Royal will be launching ‘The Domino Effect’, a series of international guest chef collaborations. This very special series of dinners has been created to celebrate Café Royal’s 150th anniversary as a London landmark this year. Named after the newly launched Domino Room restaurant, the series will see a number of high profile international chefs collaborations, working with Café Royal’s own executive chef Andrew Turner.
The first event, on 18 March sees renowned two-Michelin starred Spanish chef Paco Roncero collaborating with Turner, to create a special seven course tasting menu. If you’ve ever been curious about the Café Royal’s club, this is an excellent chance to find out more because the menu, served in the Domino Room, will be available to the public for a limited period, as well as Club members.
Paco Roncero is one of the leading representatives of avant-garde Spanish cuisine, not just within Spain but also internationally. He is currently the executive chef and director of the Casino de Madrid and its two-Michelin starred restaurant La Terraza del Casino.
Priced from £90, the exclusive menu features: Chocolate “filipino”, foie gras and cardamom; Tuna tartare; Squid risotto and curry oils; Anjou, pigeon apples and cassis; Mango egg; and Baylands Tiramisu and chocolate dishes. Paco and Andrew’s menu will be served until 11 April 2015.
The lineup of guest chefs is growing fast with The Costardi Brothers of Milan continuing ‘The Domino Effect’ in Spring 2015. The Domino Room is part of the hotel’s Private Member’s Club offering fine dining to Club members and hotel residents. Returned to its original glory, the Domino Room boasts stunning and beautifully restored cartouche and decadent artwork.
