Lidl and More from London Unattached:
One of the lovely things about writing for London Unattached is that from time to time we are asked to review new and often exciting products. This month two such opportunities came our way, both of which seemed to herald the end of a very wet, chilly, and never-ending spring and a welcome to sunny days at last.
The first to arrive were some sparkling waters with a lovely difference, at just 12 calories a bottle, these are even an option for those on the 5:2 diet! Sparkling Ice waters are delicately flavoured, and actually, taste very natural without that funny chemical after-taste prevalent in many fizzy drinks. I found them to be really refreshing, not overly sweet, and very enjoyable as a day-time beverage in the garden. These are available in three flavours, Peach Nectarine, Black Raspberry, and Orange Mango. They can be found in the shops at about £1.49 for a 500 ml bottle.
The next lovely basket to arrive was from Lidl to showcase their 1001 delights range. I’ve had a hectic couple of weeks so feeling like a Whirling Dervish myself, I couldn’t wait to open it!
A really interesting range, from snacks, lamb tagine, stuffed zucchini, spices, pickles, and onto fresh produce such as tabbouleh and falafels it’s a range designed to bring a bit of Eastern promise to your kitchen! There are also pretty tea-lights, decorative cushions, and the essential tagine in which to serve up either your home-made creation or maybe cheat and put the ready done version inside and just take the compliments! So far I’ve only indulged in the dates stuffed with marzipan – and I’ve had to hide them or I would have wolfed the whole lot in one sitting! If you are feeling adventurous there’s also a Lebanese wine, I’m going to pop in to get one as I’ve tried Lebanese red before but never a white. If you’re also feeling the Mediterranean vibe then the range is on offer from 7th July until stocks run out – so move fast!
