Snack in the New Year with Burts Chips:
It is the time of year when we all want to cosy up indoors and relax. What better treat for those long winter evenings than a packet of Burts hand-cooked potato chips. Burts chips come from Devon and were founded in 1995, but only hit the shops a couple of years later when the team were happy they’d created something very special. And, they are called by the name first used by their New York creator, ‘chips’ with the idea that their premium, thick-cut style chips are just a little bit special. The first batch of flavours were sea salt, mature cheddar and no salt.
Since 1997 Burts have gone on to create a whole range of innovative flavours. There’s Devon Roast beef which captures the comforting taste of a roast right from the bag, using authentic seasoning from the Well Hung Meat Company. And a couple of Guinness Burts chips, Guinness Toasted Cheddar and Guinness Rich Chilli. The Guinness range is vegetarian-friendly, and combines the iconic stout flavour with Burts’ locally sourced seasoning for a perfect winter-time snack. Or for anyone with an adventurous appetite, zesty Thai Sweet Chilli, meaty Spicy Chorizo or tangy Firecracker Lobster pack a deliciously spicy punch. Burts has just updated its Firecracker lobster seasoning to ensure winter snackers can enjoy the hot, authentic flavour of perfectly seasoned meaty lobster with locally sourced South Devon Chilli Farm chillies.
The full Burts range also includes much-loved flavours such as Sea Salt, Sea Salt & Malted Vinegar, Vintage Cheddar & Spring Onion and Sea Salt & Crushed Peppercorns.
They all sound quite delicious don’t they!
Here’s where you come in – those lovely people at Burts Chips have offered me a mixed box of warming winter flavours as a Christmas giveaway. One lucky London-Unattached reader will win a box containing Devon roast beef, spicy chorizo, firecracker lobster and Guinness flavour crisps [approx.. value £20]. If you’d like to be in with a chance of winning, just follow the rafflecopter through as normal. Remember to answer the compulsory question – I’d like to know what is your favourite tipple and what Burts Chips flavour you think would go best with it. Mine is easy – a glass of Pomerol and the Devon roast beef will do nicely.
