Getting started with the AEG Ergorapido:
As you may have noticed, I quite like reviewing new and interesting appliances. So I was thrilled to be picked as one of AEG’s testers for the Ergorapido vacuum cleaner.
Especially because I have two lovely but VERY fluffy cats
As you can perhaps guess from the look on Micha’s face, they don’t like vacuum cleaners…and they support the FMFF (feline movement for free fur) so I spend my life chasing what my sister in law calls dust bunnies – little puffs of silky grey fur that stick to everything.
So I was really rather pleased to get the chance to try the Ergorapido, a lightweight cordless vacuum cleaner. It arrived in a very light box. So light I wasn’t quite sure whether I was really getting something that would work. And when I opened it up there was NO POLYSTYRENE. Just a cardboard egg-cartoon container holding the Ergorapido and its accessories.
The box contained the cleaner, a stand (which had a couple of nozzles for the hand-held device tucked into it) and a power supply. Nothing more, other than a simple instruction leaflet.
And so far, I love it! It took about 5 minutes to assemble and leave to charge. And once charged up, that with just one click, I could convert it into a handheld cleaner too.
What do I like about it so far? It’s slim, stylish, smart enough to leave out, although it wouldn’t take much space in a cupboard and very easy to use. It’s very manoeuvrable and so light that even without unclipping the handheld, I can easily clean my sofa. It doesn’t seem to lose charge quickly…so far I’ve tried it for about 20 minutes and there was no sign that it was running out of power. And, it DOES pick up cat fur (not all vacuum cleaners do, as any cat owner will tell you).
My only ‘dislike’ is that I keep having to clean the dust barrel because it’s very small. But that might just be because of the accumulation of fur that is finally being picked up…
So, my war against the FMFF continues – I live on to fight another battle.
To Be Continue…
