Travel Tips for Guys, Packing Like a Pro
Holiday packing for guys is easy, right? Well I’m a girl, so I’d say yes it is, compared to the trauma I have to go through, however when I put this to my male friends they tell me that the main problem they have is remembering what they need.
I don’t wish to generalise, as I’m sure every guy is different, but I wouldn’t imagine many guys do the lists and outfit planning that us girls do.
Having said that, maybe you do, and if that is the case, well done! You will remember everything, and be immaculately styled.
Travel Tip, Save Yourself the Stress
To make sure that toothbrush and all your clothes make it to the same destination as you, cut out your stress and get all your travel plans in place well ahead of time. Be proactive about plans like; How are you getting to the airport? Bus? Train? Taxi? Have you thought of driving?
I live in Central London so generally make my way to the airport via public transport but my brother in deepest darkest Wales flies from Cardiff and has to drive to get there. He tells me that ParkBCP have some great deals, and facilities at all major airports in the UK, as well as more regionally. For example he regularly books his Cardiff airport parking, and this forms one of the mainstays of his holiday planning these days. I’d certainly recommend you look into this too, as it really transformed his travel day, and as a result, he seems to be much more clear headed before he jets off.
Now on with Packing for Guys
Not forgetting things isn’t the only problem guys generally have pre-holiday. You do need more than two pairs of shorts, and if you’re anything like my brother, you’ll need to be leaving that suit and dress shoes at home – you don’t need them! For some reason he insists on taking proper shoes and a suit away with him, which is beyond me, maybe it’s a guy thing but I don’t get it. Put simply, in heat, you want linen trousers, yes, a pair of jeans is okay, and long shorts. T shirts, shirts for the evening, and vest tops are the way forward. A decent pair of shoes is okay, but you don’t need flash ones, and a pair of day time flip flop-type shoes too.
As for swim wear, it depends on how long you’re going for, but two or three should be enough, provided you clean them well enough every evening.
I may be doing you guys an injustice, but packing for you has to be easier, surely? Forgive me if I’m wrong, but unless you’re surrounded by lists, fretting over shoes, and worrying about handbags, how can you compare? Then again, maybe I just make it ridiculously difficult for myself.
