Win a kitsch analogue camera from Lomography:
My father was a very keen photographer. He used to shoot in black and white on 35mm film and then he’d develop his own photos in a room up in the attic where we were not supposed to go. Full of bottles, jars, trays and strange lights, with washing-lines strung out across the ceiling pegged with prints, it seemed much like a wizard’s cavern to us.
Of course I’m biased, but his photos have always seemed very special to me.
I do wonder sometimes whether the art of photography gets a little lost in our instant world. He’d spend hours setting up his shots and actually taking a photo was something that required planning because the film was not cheap. Now we point and click a thousand times without a second thought.
So, the idea of trying an analogue camera seems very appealing. Especially when it’s a kitsch retro model like the La Sardina Guvnor which comes with integral flash.
I’ve got one to give away, along with a roll of film to get the winner started. With a RRP of £99 for the camera and £9.90 for the film, it’s a great prize.
