Be Happy, Stay Chilled with INNOCENT Coconut Water
My recent invite to Fruit Towers turned into more than I bargained for! Not only did it celebrate its 2nd year of Coconut Water but also featured a talk and some tips from Samantha Clarke, a Happiness Consultant, on how to stay chilled irrespective of what life throws at you. More was to come though when Kevin offered us a fabulous spontaneous tour of Fruit Towers that was both fun and revealing.
Innocent pay huge attention to the work/life balance ensuring optimum physical and emotional health. To celebrate a stress-free Summer of Coconut Water (no preservatives or sweeteners) – thirst-quenching and full of electrolytes ensuring maximum hydration, Samantha Clarke focussed on tips to assist in staying ”Always Chilled” whatever life throws at you. The perfect pairing one would say and a talk that aroused a lot of personal interest judging by the volume of questions posed after her presentation.
Having arrived for the event promptly and partaken a much appreciated re-energising Super Smoothie, Kevin offered to take a group of us around the Fruit Towers Headquarters whilst we were waiting for the arrival of other attendees. From the moment you stepped through the front door with a continuum that extends to all its floors, this workspace was fun, energetic and harmonious creating a very distinct ambience that could be felt as you walked around the building. From the origins of the company known as Fast Tractor through its tumultuous rise since 1998, the building pays homage to its past, the present and indeed the future. I loved the Work/Home arrows underscoring the importance of work/life balance, the Lego Wall outside the IT Servers room and the history unfolding on the stairways as you descend from floor to floor.
There was a very distinctive calm and chilled ambience about the whole environment – where else have you ever spotted a wall celebrating the achievements of past leavers who will not be forgotten for their intake in the formation and ongoing success of Innocent. Innocent’s involvement and dedication to Charity Work was also at the forefront with multiple examples spotted during our tour.
It seemed rather apt after the upbeat tour to take our seats to listen to Samantha Clarke, Happiness Consultant take us through scenarios ranging from how to Handle Confrontation in a Productive Way, How to combat the feeling of not ”doing enough” through to how to become fulfilled when motivation wanes away from current interests and priorities. There is no magic Harry Potter Wand or hidden formula that can solve any of these problems in one strike but there are indeed many steps you can take to ensure the end result is innovation rather than stagnation. This was about the need to be authentic and realistic with your own needs whilst being mindful and respectful of others’ wishes and finally, probably to me the most important thing was identifying what matters in the guise of work, self, others and home.
I talked about pairing earlier and how the ‘Always Chilled’ ethos can be extended to personality in addition to ensuring your coconut water arrives in optimum condition. Innocent are the only company to keep the Coconut Water process chilled from its inception involving the cracking of coconuts right through to the drinking phase. Low in calories and fat free too this is a cause for rehydration celebration as there’s no guilty secret associated with its ingestion. In its 2nd year of production, it’s a drink that has really found its grip on the market. I actually think of it akin to marmite – people seem to either hate or love it – luckily I am firmly ensconced in the latter camp!
Many thanks to Kevin for the ad-hoc tour and information about the company. I also would like to extend my gratitude to other hosts and attendees for making this an enlightening and fun evening. I raise my glass of coconut water and wish you all well.
