2018 Easter Eggs – the prettiest egg in town from Bettys:
There is that period, just after Christmas when all the decorations come down and you start to wonder when things will brighten up again. It just took one glance at the Bettys 2018 Easter eggs for me to start to feel that spring MUST be around the corner, despite the grey skies and freezing temperatures outside. The Easter range from Bettys this year is one of the most strikingly beautiful I’ve ever seen, with eggs that look remarkably like their rather pricier Faberge cousins!
I hadn’t realised that the founder of Bettys, Frederick Belmont, was a Swiss chocolatier who came to England. Apparently, he arrived on the South Coast and got on the wrong train which took him to Yorkshire. And, there, in Harrogate, he founded Bettys, nearly a hundred years ago! That does explain the quality of the chocolate, which is what I used to think of as ‘grown-up’ – it’s made from the finest Swiss Grand Cru couverture from Felchlin of Switzerland.
My first thought when I saw this wonderful range of Easter eggs was that they would make the perfect Easter gift for a grown-up. So many of the easter eggs you see in the shops are for children, but I know people of all ages enjoy chocolate. These eggs are so exquisitely delicate I’m not sure I’d want to actually eat them. Hand decorated, they are made to Fredericks own standard – with amazing attention to detail.
And, to cheer up one lucky London-Unattached reader’s this Spring, I have my favourite from the range, the limited edition Spring Bloom Egg, to give away. It retails at £30 and is a beautifully colourful Easter egg made from eau de nil coloured white chocolate, and finished with a silver lustre, it is decorated with bluebells, primroses, bumble bees and a sugar paste butterfly. What would you do if you won it? I am really not sure I’d want to destroy it, even for the sake of the chocolate!
Easter this year falls on Sunday 1st April, which is relatively early. Have you planned what you’ll be doing yet? Let me know if you have any special Easter traditions in your family, be that a big meal, a visit to Church on Easter Sunday, making your own Easter eggs or baking a simnel cake. And, if you don’t have a tradition yet – why not invent one and start this year – check out the stunning range of Easter gifts from Bettys and pick something you’d like to exchange each year!
Once you’ve commented just follow the rafflecopter through to be in with a chance of winning what must be one of the prettiest 2018 Easter eggs in the shops.
