Penn State Snacks
I’m already falling behind with my Last Minute Christmas Shopping Guide! I think we are actually on day 9 now, so I am going to need to catch up!!!! Here without more ado is a suggestion for something to stock up on.
Having a selection of unusual snacks in the cupboard over the holiday season is really important. Why? Because whoever is chef in YOUR home is going to get really fed up of having to do exciting and creative things every day, and it’s good to just have a selection of savoury things you can munch on or serve up with cold meat (turkey?) and salad.
Penn State Snacks fit the bill perfectly. They have a range of pretzels, both plain and flavoured which are perfect served with a dip or just to munch on while you are relaxing. I’ve always enjoyed pretzels, I remember when I was a kid I thought they were much more exotic than crisps. But, I only tried the flavoured varieties recently…and I particularly liked the cream cheese and chive which I paired up with a home made guacamole. How about trying these limited edition Worcester sauce pretzels with a fresh tomato salsa…kind of bloody mary in a snack?
Or Gammon and Mustard as a way to perk up a plate of left over turkey and salad
They also have a range of more unusual snacks including some cassava and vegetable snacks seasoned with sizzling Teriyaki flavour and chickpea snacks with a spicy Jalfrezi seasoning.
The great thing about all of the Penn state range is that relatively speaking they are healthy snacks, with lower fat and calorie count than most crisps and chocolates because they are oven baked not fried. A 25g serving of pretzels comes in at around 100 cals. So really not that bad for you, unless like me you get the munchies and eat the whole packet at once! And, they are fun, different things to serve up.
So, make sure you have some in your cupboard over the Christmas period. Most major supermarkets stock one or more of their range!
Disclosure: I was sent samples of Penn State Pretzels to test and review
