Brexit Box Italian Consolation!
(This post is sponsored by DiForti)
Are you a leaver or a remainer? I’ve signed so many petitions I feel like a pop-star now. It’s something of a consolation that many mainland Europeans are behind those of us who would rather carry on within the EU and will be sad if we do leave. Right now that sympathy extends to all sorts of special deals. Needless to say, one of my favourites is the Brexit Box from Diforti, an excellent supplier of Italian ingredients, originally founded by Michele Diforti in Sicily in 1875. Today, Diforti is run by great-great-grandsons Carlo and Andrea, and brings the traditional tastes of Italy to the UK via its online delicatessen. It’s one of those ‘good deals’ we all hope we won’t need, with delicious tastes of Italy such as Nduja Spread and Salamino Toscana, which may be difficult to get hold of once the UK is Out. The Brexit Box has been carefully put together to contain non-perishable items that will not only delight but also last in the cupboard, should shoppers be hit with a shortage come March 29.
Carlo Diforti, Director of Diforti, said: “The looming prospect of Brexit may have already hit the pound, but it could be about to hit the people of the UK where it really hurts – their kitchen cupboards. The price of olives has hit a seven-year high, and there are warnings of an impending cheese shortage.
We don’t want any of our customers missing out on the very best Italian ingredients, no matter what we wake up to on March 29th. That’s why we’ve put together the Brexit Box, full of items that may be harder to come by once Brexit comes around.”
I love Diforti’s products and had a hamper of my own to review at Christmas – I made a really delicious pasta dish with prawns, tomatoes and fennel and was really impressed by how well it turned out.
Diforti’s Brexit Box contains:
- Carnaroli Rice 500g
- Gluten-free Penne Rigate 400g
- Red Sweet Peppers Stuffed with Cheese 215g
- Nduja Spread 190g
- Taralli with Extra Virgin Olive Oil 200g
- Tuna Loins in Oil 200g
- Truffle Oil 250ml
- Salamino Toscano 125g
- Sicilian Pesto Jar 180g
Andrea Diforti, Director of Diforti, said: “Everyone’s talking about bad deals or no-deal, so we’ve made sure that our Brexit Box is a very good deal. It has everything you need to keep your cupboards stocked and your table full.”
Diforti’s Brexit Box is priced at: £44.99 and available via the website(shop.diforti.com) until stocks last.
Now, while we may not be in a position to stop Brexit, I DO have one Brexit Box for a lucky London-Unattached reader to win. All you need to do is follow through the rafflecopter, remembering to answer the mandatory question. I’d like to know from you, what Italian food product you’d most miss from the Diforti range. You can check out what they sell from their website and take your pick from an amazing range of Italian products.
