Fentimans Summer Drinks – Giveaway:
Today, for the first time in what seems like ages, we finally got some sunshine. I’ve been out in the garden tidying things up and stopped for a few minutes to indulge in my favourite Fentimans.
Rose lemonade is quite a unique drink – delicately flavoured with Rose Oil, it’s something I like by itself but also quite enjoy with a dash of Vodka and a sprig of pineapple sage or rosemary. This particular glass was just the lemonade though – honest!
I’ve been sent a lovely hamper of summer drinks from Fentimans – and every day the sun shines I’m treating myself. Sadly, so far I’ve only got as far as the rose lemonade, but I have to admit I am a regular buyer of the Victorian Lemonade and the Wild English Elderflower, which tastes exactly as I imagine my own version would do if I was organised enough to make it at home!
I’m curious too about the Dandelion and Burdock. I first bought a bottle of an unspecified brand when I was about 8 years old and thought it was quite disgusting. But then, I also thought coffee was the work of the devil at the time, so I suspect my taste may have changed. It may just have been Fentimans – they’ve been making their drinks since 1905 – and even I am not THAT old!
Still made to traditional recipes, Fentimans are botanically brewed and natural – no nasty additives or colourings. So, they make the perfect summer indulgence for me, even though I’m trying my best to diet!
I know I’ll like the traditional Ginger Beer – although I haven’t tried the Fentimans version yet, it’s a drink I love. And I suspect the colas will be excellent mixed with rum or just sipped on a hot afternoon.
Fentimans Mandarin & Seville Orange Jigger has the juice of eight mandarins and the zest of Seville orange in every bottle. The term “Jigger” is old English for “a good measure” and this drink also contains speedwell, juniper extract and fermented ginger botanicals – sounds delicious – I think I’ll be trying mine topped up with prosecco or over ice on its own.
Luckily for London-Unattached readers, Fentimans have offered me a hamper to giveaway too.
