Personalised Fitness Coaching at Fitness Space Battersea Reach
I’m always keen to find out more about new ideas in the health and wellbeing space and was delighted to be invited to visit the new Fitness Space within the new developments of Battersea Reach. On a cold January evening, I was given a warm greeting as I entered the dedicated gym, situated under the blocks of apartments.
At Fitness Space Battersea you receive a fully personalised approach, led by your own data, and individualised coaching and support, to ensure that you will reach your goals. I really got this impression from the off. The space is filled with a range of High-Tec machines and is a well-designed gym space which utilises the relatively small footprint well. Fitness Space aims to keep to a limited number of members to maintain the individualised and readily available support from the coaches. They are with you for your ‘entire fitness journey, every step, every breath’. And, with the help of some leading-edge technology they can make that a reality for every member, no matter how far away from the gym they stray!
In the gym itself, cardio machines are all fitted with computers that you can keep track of your activity and progress. There are multiple programmes with a lot of information. All this is stored in your app by scanning your wristband to record your activity. Your record can then be seen by the coaches to track progress and update training programmes and discuss with you at your next visit. Use the app to connect to the studio equipment, follow your programme and connect with your coach 24/7 through the messenger service. You can also integrate your favourite fitness apps, capture all your moves and track your progress. If you’re a ‘techy’ you will love all this.
The weight machines have multiple uses which means the gym is not full of machines – so important for that feeling of space.
There is a small studio with infrared heaters for the hot yoga, spin bikes for classes and a range of fitness equipment for HIIT classes. I tried out the hot yoga. Whilst I have done lots of yoga it was my first experience of it in the heat. It didn’t get really hot, nor did I run with sweat as I’d envisaged. It was definitely warm though and added a degree of extra effort from the body. The warmth was really beneficial to moving the joints fully and stretching the muscles. The infrared heat is also meant to be very good for you.
When you take out a membership at Fitness Space, Battersea Reach you have a full body and fitness assessment including DNA testing. The coaches will then know you and your body – everything from your competencies, DNA, health history, to the time you can train – which helps them to create your unique, fully customised training and nutritional programme, informed by your own DNA. It’s a truly personalised approach that means you can train more effectively and get better results more quickly. All the information is uploaded to your Fitness Space app. And, the staff pride themselves on saying “there’s no ‘gymtimidation’, just straight up support. At Fitness Space you will never train alone.”
Everything has been carefully thought out so that it will work for all body shapes and sizes. The free weights section on the upper level has the full range of weight sizes and benches.
And, if you feel hungry or in need of a boost, there are a range of nutritional products available at the gym.
Thanks to the app, every one to one personal training session you do with your unique programme and the digitally connected experience, your dedicated fitness coach can follow you. What’s more, the app enables your fitness coach to stay connected to your progress, whether you train at the Fitness Space studio, your home or on the go.
How can you not smash your fitness goals with all this available to you?
