Grand Mayne for Christmas

What wine will grace your Christmas Table?  How about some Grand Mayne…

A few months ago, on a balmy evening, we sat in the garden enjoying a glass of two of Grand Mayne rosé wine and thinking about what we might pair with this quintessential taste of summer.  We asked you the same question and hundreds of you replied for the chance to win some wine for yourself.

Grand Mayne Rose

This time, we don’t have any rosé to give away but we do have a bottle of red and a bottle of white wine from Grand Mayne.  Perfect to cheer up your Christmas table, or indeed to enjoy in advance while you are preparing things for what might not be an altogether normal Christmas.

Grand Mayne white in vines

Domaine du Grand Mayne has been producing award-winning red, white and rosé wines from their beautiful vineyard in south-west France since 1985.  From 2018 it has been owned by a community of over 900 wine lovers.  The vineyard, in the Côtes de Duras, has the perfect combination of soil, aspect and climate which winemaker Mathieu Crosnier and his team lovingly tend to create the wines. Click on this link to join Mathieu on a virtual tour, as he shows you around the vineyard, winery and the guest house.

Grand Mayne Merlot

From succulent reds to citrusy whites Grand Mayne produces five wonderful wines (Sauvignon, Rosé,  Merlot Cabernet, Réserve Sauvignon Sémillon and Réserve Merlot Cabernet) to suit all palates and price ranges. To ensure the best value they sell direct and have your wines delivered to your door in the UK.  The white and rosé wines are Vegan friendly, although the extra filtration needed by the reds mean they are not.

Now, I don’t know what you are planning to serve on Christmas Day, but here we quite often have venison loin rather than turkey.  I think the Grand Mayne Réserve Merlot Cabernet would be a great pairing for that.  When we do have turkey, because there’s usually only two of us, we rather like these turkey breast paupiettes which are good with a reasonably robust white wine – or better still, in my opinion with something like the Grand Mayne Rosé. How about you?

If you want to order some wine in time for Christmas, do pop over to their website  https://www.domaine-du-grand-mayne.com/
