The perfect lockdown dining experience – delicious homemade food brought right to your door.
One of the things I really miss since lockdown is dining out and enjoying good food cooked by somebody else, so I was delighted to be invited to try the brand new The Kitchen Supper launched by Archie’s Food which is based in West London and delivers 3-course meals to your door ready for a well-earned Friday or Saturday night supper.
With my order in place, a box of delights arrived at my doorstep on a sunny bank holiday weekend during the lockdown, it was complete with a cocktail mix, nibbles, starters, main course and a mouthwatering pudding for two. All the ingredients to enjoy a proper tasty night in!
Archie’s Food has been feeding London since 2008. The business predominantly centres around events and weddings – with that on hold due to Covid-19, owner and chef, William Deal is currently focusing on cooking and delivering great home-cooked food and grocery boxes to Londoners.
William celebrates what’s in season, he devises weekly changing menus at Archie’s for people to choose from, all in portions of two they are a mixture of home-cooked meals ready to freeze as well as fresh pasta and sauces. You can indulge in a comforting fish pie or transport yourself to Morocco with a lamb tagine. Alternatively, you can enjoy pasta al fresco in the spring sunshine made with fresh egg pasta including Black Truffle & Ricotta Tortellini to Pumpkin & Ricotta Tortellini served with fresh pesto or tomato sauce. And for a sweet finish, try the likes of William’s tiramisu or zingy lemon tart.
So with the table set and the sun still shining (and fortunate enough to have some outside space) we kicked off the evening in the garden with the Archie’s Banger cocktail – it arrived ready mixed, all we had to do was add ice and pour. Pretty, pink and punchy, this finely balanced mix of vodka, Cachaca rum, Cointreau, cranberry juice, sugar syrup, and fresh Lime was an ideal spirit lifter for a home-based summers evening. We enjoyed it with a bowl of beautifully spiced black olives with balsamic and fragrant rose petals – the perfect partner for our well-laced cocktail.
The meal was all prepared and delivered in individual boxes, all we had to do was heat it up. Instructions were provided. Add of course your own preferred choice of wine.
Our starter was a generous portion of crisp and chunky halloumi chips served with a sweet chilli tomato relish.
For mains, we had a magnificent spread of Moroccan style dishes.
We had requested one dish to be vegetarian which William from Archie’s Food had kindly provided.
The Moroccan slow roast shoulder of lamb was tender and delicious, brimming with warm spices, the veggie option of piquant cauliflower shawarma, drizzled with tahini was equally tasty. Sides of couscous with sweet jewels of pomegranate, well-flavoured baba ganoush, refreshing, light and creamy labneh, and authentic flatbreads all added of the lavish spread.
Did we really have room for pudding? Not really but, who could resist the unsparing slices of homemade set yoghurt and white chocolate cheesecake, drizzled with thyme honey? It was beautifully fresh and creamy, and remarkably moreish, needless to say, we managed to eat the lot!
What an indulgence! The perfect solution to breaking the mundanity of lockdown life and bringing the outside in for a change. The Kitchen Supper is reasonably priced at £35 per person. I know I look forward to brightening up my weekend again in the near future with another gastronomical feast courtesy of William from Archie’s Food.
The Kitchen Supper is designed for a real treat at the weekend (only available on Friday and Saturday nights) and consists of cocktail mixers, nibbles, starters, a main AND a pudding all for just £35 per person.

Lovely to hear you enjoyed it! I know Lucy who wrote this review was really impressed.
We too had the Archie’s Kitchen Supper. It was sublime, so nice to look forward to the equivalent of a very spoiling night out after a long week at work. Just the ticket and can’t wait to see what other seasonal delights William and his team can deliver
