Breakfast, lunch or dinner, Pizza Tribe has you covered!

You’ll find Pizza Tribe on Shoreditch’s Leonard Circus with great outdoor space and an inviting interior. It is spacious and colourful with the painted neon murals bringing the Shoreditch street inside. Open from breakfast to dinner it’s a great place to start your day with a coffee and local bakery delight then end there too with a post-work pizza.

With that being said, Pizza Tribe prides itself on not only great pizza but also having breakfast and lunch offerings with drinks to die for. Throughout the day you can try Origin coffee or if you’re popping by after work or the weekend ask about their local craft beers and choices of wines on tap. These start from just £6. They also have a great range of soft drinks including zesty Lemonaid+ and JCB Juice that celebrates using wonky fruit and is handmade here in London. There is a great community vibe at Pizza Tribe and they blend perfectly into Shoreditch.

If you’re a pizza perfectionist, you’ll note that the pizza is square, but the taste is not! There are ten pizzas to choose from and these have either a white garlic base or the Tribe’s tomato sauce. At lunch, these are available by the slice from £12 and come snug in a satisfyingly square pizza box. At dinner, pizzas come in two sizes, a regular 30 x 40 cm or the larger 60 x 40 cm. The 30 x 40cm filled two of us and larger groups or families would enjoy the 60 x 40 cm easily. With ten pizzas to choose from, the lovely staff merged our choice of the number 4 with their recommendation, the 9. The option to make a pizza half and half is great as the generous sized slices lend themselves perfectly to a sharing situation.

The pizza itself is straight-up delish. Part of this is thanks to the dough which is fermented for 36 hours and then stone-baked, Roman style. This gives it a crispy base with the right amount of chew and is the perfect setting for the amazing array of toppings. The number 9 is a white sauce base with garlicky, soft herby potatoes with salty cubes of pancetta and savoury miso onions, it’s good. The perfect amount of salt and herb to cut through the creamy base. This contrasted with the heat of the number 4 pizza which made it a great half and half combo. The number 4 has Tribe’s top tier tomato sauce, not overly tomatoey or acidic; it is bright and works well with the abundance of toppings. The manageable heat of the nduja and mixed chillies balanced well with the creamy Buratta. The other flavours include a classic margarita but the menu changes so be sure to ask what’s new when you visit.  That way you’ll make sure you get offered some fresh pizza takes on seasonal produce.

Olives and side salad are on the Sides menu, but the standout side is the garlic bread with Fior Di Latte Mozzarella. The size of a normal pizza this g-bread is not one to be missed and should be ordered to share. Or go all in, no judgement here! It came cut in diamond shapes which were perfect to pick at between pizza slices and with a good balance of both garlic and cheese, don’t skip it. Looking down Pizza Tribe’s menu you’ll also see Farcita which is their take on a toasted sandwich. Be sure to ask in store for their flavours of the day. These start from £5 and are a great option if you’ve brought a pal that isn’t as passionate about pizza.

What more could you want? Dessert of course! Pizza Tribe link up with local breweries but also local bakeries. Choose from brownies of various flavours, blondies and Cookie Cup Girls Cookies which all start from £2.50. A sweet way to end the meal! From visiting Pizza Tribe it’s obvious they are excited about what they do and want to share this with everyone that joins them. We’ll be back and can’t wait to make our way through all ten pizzas!
