Pick up a Post Christmas Penguin from Jana Reinhardt!
OK, own up. Who has a soft spot for penguins? I know I do – I just love the way they walk – and the fact that they mate for life. And, of course, they are ultra-cute.
I’ve got a very special treat for one lucky London-Unattached reader this Christmas in the form of this beautiful little silver penguin from Jana Reinhardt.
Jana Reinhardt is bespoke jewellery founded in London in 2006. She’s since moved to Worthing where she works with partner Ross Cutting who is also a goldsmith. Their range is meticulously crafted and made entirely in the UK and their whimsical designs consist of jewellery inspired by nature and include everything from sparrows and flowers to bunnies and butterflies. With designs that incorporate her love for the natural world, all of her jewellery is entirely handmade, using wax carving rather than machine manufacture. That means every piece is unique – and there’s no negative effect on the environment. What’s more, all the precious metals used by Jana Reinhardt are from accredited suppliers, based in the UK and Germany, that continually buy back and recycle scrap metal, thus helping to create more environmentally friendly jewellery
Jana comes from a tradition of jewellery making. Born in East Germany, Jana’s artist father began creating his own handmade jewellery in the era when the Eastern Bloc was full of austerity. Jana followed in his footsteps, becoming a qualified artist and goldsmith. She’s a certified master goldsmith and a graduate of the Zeichenakademie, Hanau where alumni include Charles Peter Faberge! Before she set up her own business she spent several years working for Lara Bohinc and at various high-end Hatton Garden goldsmiths. Ross is a graduate of Sir John Cass University in London where he studied jewellery and silversmithing, working as a freelance goldsmith for 10 years before joining Jana in 2010.
Now, if you’d like a chance to win your own piece of Jana Reinhardt jewellery, you just need to follow the rafflecopter through as normal, remembering to answer the mandatory question by visiting www.janareinhardt.com and picking your favourite item.
