Delicious and nutritious – ‘milk’ chocolate without the dairy – Pure Heavenly.

While I aspire to healthy eating, I’m suspicious of food which claims to keep the taste and texture but remove the key ingredients.  As something of a chocolate addict, the idea of a delicious low sugar, dairy-free (vegan) chocolate bar sounded just a bit beyond likely to me.  But, I’ve been taste-testing some Pure Heavenly bars for myself and I can honestly say they are as good if not better than the leading commercial ‘bad for you and often for the environment too’ bars.

Heavenly Chocolate dairy and gluten free Bars

Pure Heavenly replaces the milk with rice cream which has its own wonderful silky texture.  The makers have also managed to keep the sugar content low – each bar has less than 2g of sugar compared with the leading UK bar which has 55g.  It’s genuinely delicious – well, isn’t all chocolate.  It tastes like a top-quality bar, perhaps because the sugar content has been kept low.  And, there’s a whole range of chocolate to suit all tastes.

There are eight ‘milk alternative’  silk bars with flavours that include original silk, orange, salted caramel, mint coconut – and my favourite fruit and nut which is packed with roasted hazelnuts and cranberries.  There are six dark chocolate bars (72% cocoa).  And especially for Christmas there are advent calendars (6 designs available).  You could also build your own luxury gift box – Pure Heavenly has a stunning casket in navy or claret each of which contains 6 bars of your choice.

Claret Gift Box Heavenly Chocolate

The low sugar chocolate won’t spike your blood sugar and has all the taste of silky milk chocolate but without the dairy, gluten, soy, GMO and ‘planet-destroying’ palm oil often found in normal chocolate.   It’s perfect for anyone with food intolerances – it was created by Stephen Conway for his own daughter.  So if you or someone you know craves chocolate but has a dairy or gluten intolerance this is the perfect thing to buy.  That said, it’s so good I doubt you’d realise it was also ‘good for you!’.

Heavenly Chocolate Vegan, Dairy and Gluten Free Bars

You may have spotted the chocolates on Dragons Den, where they won a £75,000 investment from Peter Jones.  Now, you have the chance to join the Dragons and try the chocolate for yourself.  It’s currently only available online from the Pure Heavenly website – but we’ve also got one luxury gift box, worth £26 to give away to a London-Unattached reader.

Now, one of the nice things about the Luxury Gift Box is that you can pick your chocolate bars to fill it up.  So, go and check the website and tell me which flavours you’d most like to find in a Pure Heavenly Chocolate gift box – then keep your fingers crossed and if Santa loves you enough you might just get lucky!
