Swiss Diamond Saute Pan with Lid:
There are certain types of pans which should be more widely used in this country. A good quality saute pan is something that can be used for a whole variety of dishes and Swiss Diamond has the advantage of being non-stick and capable of being used with little or no cooking oil or butter. They are also considerably lighter than the cast iron pans I often use – but the high manufacturing quality means they still have the benefits in terms of heat convection. Of course, the advantage of that is healthier, lower calorie meals. I’m delighted with my new 24cm Swiss Diamond Saute Pan. You can find out what I make for my first meal using the Saute Pan in a few days – needless to say, it’s a 5:2 diet recipe because this particular pan is perfect for making low-calorie recipes. When you consider that just a teaspoon of oil adds 40 calories you may begin to understand why I am so excited to have one of these pans to use and one to give away!
It looks rather good too!
A saute pan is capable of frying or sealing meat, but the deep sides mean that you can add liquid and vegetables while the lid allows you to cook your dish a little more slowly and gently than a conventional frying pan without everything drying out. I was using a very old one which had completely lost its finish, so I am really very pleased with my new model.
Now one of the problems I have is that of course there’s a great Swiss Diamond online store, and I keep popping over to see what else I could add to my collection! The only thing stopping me is a real need to clear out my kitchen cupboards first so there’s space.
I guess I could pretend I NEED to get them because of the 5:2 diet…or justify it on the basis that they come with a lifetime guarantee.
