Smarten up your Garden with a Gorgeous Garden Bench from Sloane & Sons
Regular readers of London Unattached may remember Lucy from the team reviewing one of the Sloane & Sons tub chairs. A classy art deco style number covered in rich blue velvet, it really brightened up her new decor. At this time of year, of course, we are all focussed on being outdoors. Smartening up a garden has been a focus for many of us – I know I’ve been planting for England and have a mix of flowers and vegetables in my tiny back garden turning into a bit of a jungle. And, while I’ve got a nice table and chairs for dining outside, I don’t have a bench yet!
Sloane & Sons were founded in 1989 in Burton on Trent. They began by manufacturing cushions and soft furnishings and expanded their business into high-quality Garden Furniture. They have now been manufacturing and supplying essential products for the home and garden for over 25 years. Their Garden Benches site showcases a stunning range of teak furniture for outdoors. They believe in keeping things simple, keeping high standards and keeping promises. Those values were the ones set out by founder Gerry Sloane in 1989, and are the principles applied to Sloane & Sons quality teak benches and outdoor furniture.
When Sloane & Sons approached me and suggested that one lucky London-Unattached reader might be able to win a £250 voucher towards a bench of their choice, I have to confess I was a little jealous. I love the range of garden benches that they have on their website – my own favourites are the Lutyens style. The only catch is that I think you’d need to live in a beautiful manor house for something like that to come into its own. Of course, I’d like that too!
Why a garden bench? Well, made of beautiful teak wood, it will blend in almost anywhere and look good whether you have a balcony, a patio, a town garden like mine, a cottage garden or a grand formal estate. Put one in your favourite spot in the garden, in the sunshine or shaded by a tree and you’ll have the perfect place to enjoy a coffee, read a book or just sit and watch the world go by.
A well built wooden bench will last for years if you follow some simple maintenance rules. And, as it ages it will take on a patina that in my view makes it even more beautiful.
Add a coffee table to make a lovely inside out space. Or how about this quirky bench for two, with a little table in the middle!
Wouldn’t you like one of their Garden Benches for yourself or as a gift for someone special? Check out the Sloane & Sons Garden Benches website and let me know in the comments below which of their range you’d like for your own garden. Would you pick my own favourite Lutyens? or perhaps one of the quirky couples benches? Or perhaps you’d put your voucher towards a tree bench? I’d like to know which bench you’d pick – and why.
