Exploring Tuscany:
This is going to be a very, very brief post with a thank you to the people from To-Tuscany for their fabulous competition.
I am just back from a wonderful week in Tuscany where thankfully the weather was considerably better than the UK.
We stayed in a lovely hilltop hamlet, a collection of restored and new holiday cottages over looking olive groves and vineyards. We could walk into the nearest village or drive to places like Sienna and Florence. We were in the Chianti area of Tuscany so really got an opportunity to taste some great Italian wines.
I WILL post more when I’ve worked out how NOT to post a collection of holiday photos and how to really show off some of the fabulous food we ate. But for now, here’s a little taster and thanks to the people at To-Tuscany and to those of you who voted for my Parmesan Baskets last year.
this looks idyllic! absolutely perfect! I hope you had a great time!
It was, I did…there’s a lot to see and I wish we were there for longer! just the tip of the iceberg this time!
Makes me feel jealous! It’s a lovely area.
It’s a fabulous area…and it was my first visit! Now I just want to go back:)
Ah, Tuscany, what a magical place, it looks like it’s been the same for centuries. About the food I can only be envious – nothing better than to try local food prepared from local produce!
Great indulgent break!
I’m putting Tuscany on my list for places to visit!
I was very lucky! And, it’s worth checking out the To-Tuscany site if you are thinking of self catering, they have lots of options of places to stay – including the lovely Montefiorile hamlet where we stayed.
It was a lovely break;)
Ah that all looks very familiar, those views, those little hamlets. Looking forward to seeing more and don’t care if they look like holiday snaps!
aww thanks janice…all of the ‘country pics’ there except the little cashmere kid were taken from our terrace! we had truly fabulous views out over Ama vineyard and an olive grove. The slightly ‘out of focus’ hamlet was something we could see in the distance!
