Summer in the City with Tanqueray no. TEN
Now summer has finally arrived it’s wonderful to be able to get out and about fully enjoy those blissful long evenings. Yauatcha and Tanqueray No. TEN have formed the perfect partnership and are celebrating the start of summer with the launch of a unique Gin and Tea Garden. I was invited to the launch to sample their exciting new tea-inspired cocktails and feast on delectable dim sum.
Yauatcha is a part of Hakkasan Group, which has pioneered Chinese fine-dining globally through its Michelin-starred Cantonese restaurants Hakkasan Hanway Place and Hakkasan Mayfair.
Yauatcha City is in the heart of the city in Broadgate Circle, (which if you haven’t visited before is well worth the trip). It opened in 2015 following the success of Yauatcha Soho, which was awarded a Michelin star and has kept the title since.
Yauatcha has taken inspiration from a Chinese tea garden, and along with Tanqueray No. TEN they have transformed their East terrace of into a lush floral garden with a canopy of green foliage, vibrant pink blossom trees and red paper lanterns. It offers a unique outdoor experience with a fabulous view of the bustling bars and restaurants below, creating the perfect setting to enjoy an evening sipping Eastern inspired cocktails whilst savouring dishes from the extensive menu.
We enjoyed two signature cocktails, a Tanqueray No. TEN Gin and Classical Beauty blue tea served with Fever-Tree naturally light tonic and garnished with strawberries, which looked especially pretty and Tanqueray No. TEN Gin and Jasmine tea also served with Fever-Tree tonic and garnished with lemongrass, both were flavourful and refreshing and ideal for a summers evening on the terrace. Priced at £12.
We ate dim sum and snacks, some from the new menu and all of which were divine, new additions included golden truffle croquette, Berkshire pork belly mantou and salt and pepper anchovy, I especially enjoyed the prawn and beancurd cheung fun, crispy mushroom spring rolls and their mouth-watering signature venison puffs which were so tender, sweet and moreish!
The evening ended with several sweet treats, a mixture of handcrafted chocolates and macaroons which Yauatcha do to perfection.
So if you want to make the most of the summer evenings, and enjoy dim sum and gin cocktails as the sun sets over the city, the Tanqueray No. TEN Tea Garden at Yauatcha City may well be the perfect destination.
