Cha Cha Moon Chinese New Year Feast for the Year of the Monkey:CHA CHA MOON ext

It’s the Chinese Year of the Monkey coming up and Cha Cha Moon are celebrating by offering a £19.99 set menu for a week from February 8th. The deal includes a set main dish, a side, a dessert with a cocktail to finish you off!CHA CHA MOON interiorI was invited to the launch of the menu at the stylish restaurant that sits in the buzzing Kingly Court development in Carnaby (that’s the new name for the area around Carnaby St).CHA CHA MOON drinks Pre dining I tried out a couple of their reasonably priced house cocktails (£6.80), a Shibuya Casual-a blend of lychee, sake and white vermouth- and a Mango Bellini.CHA CHA MOON prAWN NOODLES Food soon followed. I really enjoyed my generous plate of big, fat and spicy Singapore Char Kway Teow noodles with prawn.

CHA CHA MOON XO Green beansBut my favourite dish was the Hong Kong speciality-green beans in a dark sticky XO sauce made from dried scallop, ham and prawn, garlic, chilli and oil.
CHA CHA MOON BANANADessert came in the form of a deliciously squidgy baked banana wrapped in a crispy roll with crème de ledge ice cream and red bean paste. It was washed down with a Banana Daquiri as a perfect sweet treat at the end of the meal.
CHA CHA MOON kitchenThe Cha Cha Moon Chinese New Year set menu is terrific value and perfect for a night out with friends or a fun date. Try it while you can. Happy Year of the Monkey!
