The new Bluebird aims to offer all-day dining (including breakfast) with a focus on seasonal British ingredients. The restaurant is smart, light and comfortable. Just like its Chelsea sibling, there’s al fresco space too with signature umbrellas and loads of greenery.
Parlour Song – Greenwich Theatre
Directed by James Haddrell, Parlour Song is a short shock of a play mixing comic, surreal and disturbing elements against the very ordinary setting of a new-build estate on the leafy edge of London. It tells the story of a demolition man whose own life seems to be collapsing around him.
The Lighterman – King’s Cross – Sunday Roast
he Lighterman is a large airy place spread out over two floors. We were seated in the upper dining room with views of the canal and an opportunity for people watching, including the gleeful kids playing in the Granary Square water features.
The Black Horse – Thame
Service at the Black Horse is friendly and efficient. There’s a long, tempting menu of familiar gastropub favourites as well as more adventurous dishes. If you’re visiting the historic market town of Thame, you will be well fed here.

Dove – Notting Hill – Restaurant of the Month
January’s restaurant of the month at London Unattached is the freshly opened Dove on Kensington Park Road. Chef Jackson Boxer closed his specialist seafood restaurant Orasay on New Year’s Eve 2024 only to reopen as Dove a week later on the same spot with the same team. The intention with Dove is to offer a more affordable menu better suited to dining in today’s precarious economic climate. Dove turned out to be a great pick – we finished our evening already fantasising about coming back and eating all the other dishes on the menu that we hadn’t yet had a chance to try.
