Margaux, Paris – A Classic Brasserie

Exterior of Margaux Paris

I am often asked by friends where to eat in Paris, and it is a question I find difficult to answer – ҫa dépend. It depends not only on your budget, but on where you are staying, what your mood is, and whether you prefer small, trendy eateries in the 11th or the big hitters that have been around for decades. My preference is for some of the terrific ethnic restaurants and the generation of young chefs who are doing exciting things in less touristy parts of the city. However, there are times when I crave a good brasserie like Margaux, serving traditional French dishes, where you know your favourites will be on the menu, where the welcome is warm, the atmosphere convivial, and the food reliable.

Brach Madrid Restaurant And Bar

July 8, 2025 (2025-07-08T11:40:11+01:00) by Lucy Foxell Leave a Comment

The first clue that Brach Madrid isn’t your average hotel restaurant comes not from the opulent Philippe Starck interiors or the postcard-perfect Gran Vía setting, but from the scent drifting through the open kitchen – a heady swirl of za’atar, garlic, and slow-roasted aubergine. Visiting from London, I’d expected polish and theatrical flair (this is a five-star hotel, after all), but what I found was something far more intriguing: a restaurant that crackles with personality.

Goldies - Exterior

Goldies may be the new kid on the block among London’s wood-fired restaurants, but it’s definitely here to stay. The atmosphere has a Mediterranean vibe that makes you forget you’re in the heart of London, and it’s perfect for any occasion

Sunday Sessions at The Light Bar, Shoreditch – Restaurant Review

Light Bar - Bar

Say goodbye to your Sunday scaries… Sundays are often my favourite day of the week. It’s a day free from the pressures to do anything other than take it easy, prepare for the week ahead and recover from the lingering effects of Saturday’s antics. Most importantly though, it’s a day to indulge in copious amounts […]
