Revitalize and Rejuvenate: Unveiling the Radiance Facial Experience at Heavenly Spa by Westin

Westin London City is part of the Marriott Hotel group, which is located on Upper Thames Street, on the north bank of the river. Heavenly Spa by Westin opened in November 2021, this tranquil urban retreat has been specially designed to allow guests to relax and focus on their well-being while travelling. It’s also ideally placed for city workers to escape the hectic pace of the office during their lunch break or after a hard day’s work. The Heavenly Spa concept is rooted in six principles – Sleep Well, Eat Well, Move Well, Feel Well, Work Well and Play Well…sounds good to me!

Heavenly Spa By Westin

Heavenly Spa Westin features five treatment rooms and an array of thermal experiences, such as a pool, sauna, steam room, sensory shower, and ice fountain. Other amenities include a relaxation room, a nail salon, a juice bar, and a restaurant that offers wholesome food choices and transforms into a champagne bar at night. The venue also houses a well-equipped gym with Peloton and Technogym equipment.

I went along to experience one of their Germaine De Cappucini luxury facials. I was warmly welcomed at reception and offered a hot or cold drink while filling in a short questionnaire, after which I was shown to the changing rooms.

Heavenly Spa By Westin locker

Inside my locker was a fluffy towelling robe and slippers which I changed into before I made my way to the treatment room. As a part of the guest experience, prior to entering the treatment room, visitors are encouraged to symbolically release their concerns by placing them inside a burden box attached to the door. This meaningful ritual, known as a ‘signature moment,’ aims to alleviate any negative emotions and allow guests to embark on their treatments with a sense of relief. I passed through the swimming pool which was once a historic bathhouse. The beautiful pool area has been sympathetically designed in natural hues of beige and stone and is positioned around the archaeological remains of the Huggin Hill Roman bathhouse. It is complete with comfortable day beds for optimum relaxation.

The spa offers a variety of therapies, including massages and facials in partnership with the renowned brand Germaine de Capuccini. Germaine de Capuccini has long been recognised as a prestigious brand, with 50 years of experience, they have spearheaded some of the most significant advancements in skincare technology. Some of the standout treatments include the Mediterranean Candle Massage, which provides a full body pinda massage enhanced by warm candle oil, and the Timexpert SRNS Anti-Aging Facial – a powerful treatment which firms and rehydrates the skin, reduces wrinkles and improves pigmentation with 99% of clients reporting they have firmer, more supple, and nourished skin after a single session. And the treatment I chose – a Timeexpert City Proof Facial – is an award-winning 60-minute facial that protects and repairs the skin from pollution damage and external stress.

The treatment room is elegantly furnished, creating an atmosphere of serenity and the treatment bed is in a class of its own which does deserve a mention.  It was not only divinely comfortable but it was heated, so as soon as I lay down, I felt wonderfully relaxed. My therapist Natalie was both charming and professional, she talked me through the facial treatment before it began, which included two different masks. The first was a distinctive bubble mask which dispenses pure oxygen into the skin’s deeper layers, purging cells of toxins, the second mask stimulates the skin’s immune system, enhancing its defence capacity.

I loved the fact that this facial also treated the neck and décolletage, an area that is often forgotten. I was also given a fabulous head, face and shoulder massage, a blissful experience which was incredibly soothing. Afterwards, before heading off, I enjoyed a cup of white tea in the relaxation room where guests are encouraged to unwind following a treatment.

As I prepared to head out for the evening, I couldn’t help but notice the remarkable glow and radiance of my skin. It drew compliments throughout the night, leaving me with undeniable confidence. I highly recommend this fabulous treatment at Heavenly Spa Westin.
