Take the stress out of flying with a comfortable stay at the London Heathrow Marriott Hotel

An early flight departure from Heathrow Airport can be worrying, with uncertainties about weather, traffic conditions or whether your taxi will arrive on time.  Why not make life easy and take the anxiety out of your trip with an overnight stay close to the airport? The modern and stylish London Heathrow Marriott Hotel is just minutes away from all the Heathrow terminals and offers a comfortable and stress-free stay.

Although I live reasonably close to Heathrow Airport, in Surrey, with the continuing work on the new M25/A3 junction there are scheduled road closures over multiple weekends. This has a big impact on traffic in the area. Leaving on an early flight from Heathrow Terminal 2, it was a relief to be able to stay overnight closer to the airport at the London Heathrow Marriott Hotel.

This modern hotel has everything you need in a convenient location. I was travelling with a lot of luggage, including skis and ski boots, so I chose to take a taxi to the hotel. If you prefer to drive, there is parking available at the hotel for a daily fee. Public transport is also a possibility, with bus stops immediately outside of the hotel.

The friendly reception team offered to store my ski equipment without the need to take it up in the lift to my room. The reception is staffed 24/7, so I could collect it in the morning before leaving for the airport. I was keen to organise the short transfer to the airport which was very straightforward. There was a terminal in the atrium where I quickly booked a We Know London private taxi for the following morning. Shared transfers are also an option where the taxi stops at multiple hotels en route to the airport, with an average journey time of twenty minutes.

With my taxi booked I headed up to my executive room. It was was spacious with an inviting king-size bed, a comfortable seating area and coffee and tea-making facilities.  A lovely touch was a card and a small selection of delicious chocolates to celebrate International Women’s Day.

The bathroom was bright and modern with This Works toiletries provided; a quality brand made from natural ingredients. There was a roomy shower, sink, toilet and plenty of towels.

The London Heathrow Marriott Hotel has different room types ranging from double rooms to rooms with two double beds, executive rooms and suites. The room rate for the executive rooms and suites includes the M Club lounge with food and drink available throughout the day. The larger rooms and suites are ideal for families, there are accessible rooms available to book on request.

The heart of the London Heathrow Marriott is a large, impressive, atrium with plenty of seating, a takeaway shop for snacks and drinks and an in-house Carluccios restaurant with a menu of delicious-sounding dishes. There is no need to leave the hotel in search of food or travel provisions, everything you could want is readily on hand.

My room rate included access to the M Club lounge.  This executive lounge is situated on the ground floor. It is a stylish and comfortable area and is perfect for relaxing the evening before a flight. From 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm there is a self-service selection of tasty small plates, salads, cheeses and desserts.  Soft drinks, tea & coffee, beers and wines are also available.  You can eat as much as you like from the buffet spread.

Having had my fill from the M Lounge I thought it best to get an early night as I was leaving very early the following morning.

My bed was comfortable, and the room was extremely quiet, given the proximity of the hotel to Heathrow Airport. The windows in the rooms at the hotel are soundproofed to ensure guests are not disturbed by outside noise. I slept well, much better than I would have done had I been in my own home.

In the morning, I had plenty of time to have a cup of tea in my room. However, I had to leave before breakfast which started at 6.00 am. I needed to gather the rest of my luggage and be ready and waiting when my taxi arrived.

I would recommend staying at the London Heathrow Marriott Hotel for a night when you want to be close to Heathrow Airport. It has everything you could need for an excellent overnight stay and it is only minutes from all of the terminals. If you have a flight leaving early in the morning, take the worry out of getting to the airport, safe in the knowledge you will not miss your flight.

I was a guest at the London Heathrow Marriott Hotel for one night in an executive room with access to the M Club lounge.

Guests staying at the hotel can book breakfast for an additional cost.

Sustainability is key in the running of the London Heathrow Marriott Hotel; solar panels on the rooftop provide energy for lighting, all lights within the hotel are energy-saving and food waste is kept to a minimum with innovative ways to repurpose food.
