KORA at Beaufort House Chelsea
King’s Road has changed a lot since I used to frequent it, but it has never been short on glossy places to eat. The latest arrival at Beaufort House, KORA, has managed to pull off something rather charming: a
contemporary Mediterranean restaurant that feels both dressed-up and relaxed, without trying too hard to impress. It’s the kind of place that wants you to imagine yourself wafting around an Aegean island, Aperol in hand – only here, the backdrop is Chelsea traffic.
Whitcomb’s by Veuve Clicquot Summer Terrace
Summer in London brings a Mediterranean charm to the capital, as alfresco venues flourish across the city. Among the standout spots this season is the Whitcomb’s by Veuve Clicquot Summer Terrace, at The Londoner hotel in the heart of Leicester Square
Adeline at The Memoir Club
For those like me with a love of Woolf’s writing, it was a special treat to be invited to lunch at Adeline. The restaurant is part of the recent refurbishment of a hotel that has stood on this spot since 1908. Previously known as The Ambassadors, The Memoir Club is now open, and while Adeline is the in-house restaurant, it is also available to the public for lunch, dinner, and afternoon tea.
CERU opens in Farringdon
Born from a love of food, drink and sunshine, CERU’s Levantine-style cuisine brings colour and flavour to a third location in central London from husband and wife team, Barry and Patricia Hilton.
Hera, Greek restaurant launch, Stratford Cross
The Hera restaurant experience is a modern sophisticated setting bound to appeal to female friends seeking upmarket dining in Stratford. The goddess Hera presides over hearth and home, thus Hera aims to be “a gathering place where guests feel part of extended family.” These glass towers of E20 nod more to Dubai than the Aegean and the approach – for now at least – still resembles a building site. Doubtless, when Sadler’s Wells East and Everyman Stratford open, Hera will be matriarch at the heart of a lively leisure destination.
Penelope’s at Amano Covent Garden: Restaurant review
Never a dull moment at Penelope’s Located inside the stylish Amano Hotel in Covent Garden, Penelope’s is a restaurant and immersive dining experience serving a fusion of Israeli and Spanish food inspired by the co-founder Ariel Schiff’s youth. The vibe is very much Berlin-meets-London, so expect a strong soundtrack, an extensive drinks list, and a […]

Onima Mayfair – Review
Onima – Mediterranean-Asian Luxurious Restaurant in Mayfair: I can do edgy. I go to eat in Hoxton, Dalston and Hackney Wick in restaurants where serious young chefs pickle and forage to their hearts content and make you sit in uncomfortable chairs. But sometimes I crave luxury; wonderful ingredients served by charming staff in surroundings that […]
