Ask anyone in West London and they’ll tell you: Chiswick House and Gardens is one of the city’s most magical places year-round. But this Christmas, the beloved landmark is elevating the festivities to dazzling new heights. Throwing open its doors for a brand-new indoor experience, Chiswick House welcomes The Twelfth Night of Christmas.
Ever wanted to step back in time and experience Christmas as it was in times gone by? This year, you can join an immersive event at Chiswick House, by invitation of Duchess Georgiana of Devonshire as she hosts one of the season’s most anticipated events. Everyone is invited to her imagined celebration. Move through her beautifully decorated house, with special festive tableaux, customer artwork and stunning floral displays before arriving at a striking Twelfth Night of Christmas banquet installation that crowns the experience.
For the very first time, Chiswick House is inviting visitors inside for a festive spectacular inspired by both the beloved 1780 carol The Twelve Days of Christmas and the Georgian era when the carol was written. The creative team behind The Twelfth Night of Christmas plans to reinvent the remarkable interiors of Chiswick House, creating a world of yuletide opulence where theatricality, fantasy, and Georgian extravagance guide guests on a Twelfth-Night–inspired journey through a sequence of richly designed rooms and installations.
Co-founded by Charlotte Lloyd-Webber and costume designer Adrian Lillie, CLW Event Design is renowned for extraordinary large-scale work at Britain’s most treasured heritage sites, from Castle Howard to Kensington Palace. For The Twelfth Night of Christmas, they are collaborating for the first time with entertainment company Underbelly, the creative force behind the multi-award-winning Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club and the acclaimed touring production of Macbeth starring Ralph Fiennes and Indira Varma.
Together, the two companies will transform Chiswick House into the festive playground it was originally intended to be, a place built for revelry, art, and dazzling gatherings. With opulent tableaux, bespoke sculptures, dramatic floristry, and exquisite costuming, you will be able to immerse yourself in a Georgian Christmas, culminating in a sumptuous banquet installation in the lower tribune. Meanwhile, younger guests will be welcomed by Father Christmas in his charming 18th-century grotto from 29 November right up to Christmas Eve.
A masterpiece of Neo-Palladian architecture built in 1729 by Richard Boyle, the 3rd Earl of Burlington, Chiswick House has long served as a beacon of creativity and cultural exchange. Its lavish Baroque interiors, celebrated gardens designed with William Kent, and history as a gathering place for artists, thinkers, and political luminaries make it the perfect setting for a festive experience of this scale.

Tickets start at £25 for adults and £14 for children for the Twelfth Night of Christmas.
Tickets for Santa’s Grotto are priced at £20 per child (including a gift) and £5 per adult. There’s a 30% concession if both events are booked together.
