Azuka Oforka’s incendiary debut play, The Women of Llanrumney, has enjoyed award-winning success at the Sherman Theatre in Cardiff and now lights up Stratford East. If last night’s press night – punctuated with many gasps – was anything to go by, this accomplished production will resonate deeply with East London audiences.

Templar – Restaurant of the Month

Six Oysters at Templar Restaurant Stratford Cross

A refined addition to Stratford Cross Templar is the sister restaurant of Dark Horse, established nearby in Stratford’s Chobham Manor segment of the former London 2012 Olympic Park. South of here, towards the stadium, Templar, serving a modern European menu, joins the growing cultural quarter of restaurants, exhibition spaces and performance venues.  In contrast to […]

Animal Farm, Snouts in the Trough, Stratford East

Every aspect of this production of Animal Farm, from acting, sets, costumes, lights, sound etc etc was excellent. It’s a shame it’s only on at Stratford East for three more weeks, but the show will move on to Leeds and Nottingham Playhouses in the rest of March and April. Animal Farm is intelligent and packs an emotional punch from beginning to end. A stampede for tickets is in order!

Hera, Greek restaurant launch, Stratford Cross

December 1, 2024 (2024-12-01T20:35:45+00:00) by Sarah Trivuncic Leave a Comment

Hera Greek Restaurant, Stratford Cross interior shot with serving staff, decorative hanging lights and orange banquet seating.

The Hera restaurant experience is a modern sophisticated setting bound to appeal to female friends seeking upmarket dining in Stratford. The goddess Hera presides over hearth and home, thus Hera aims to be “a gathering place where guests feel part of extended family.” These glass towers of E20 nod more to Dubai than the Aegean and the approach – for now at least – still resembles a building site. Doubtless, when Sadler’s Wells East and Everyman Stratford open, Hera will be matriarch at the heart of a lively leisure destination.

Duvale’s, Riverside East, Stratford – Sunday Roast in East London

Sunday roast dinner beef option served at Duvale's Riverside East restaurant with cauliflower cheese and large Yorkshire pudding on top.

if you come knowing that this is a bright modern café-style venue with huge windows rather than somewhere intimate with rugs and armchairs to hide in a corner you can enjoy a hearty Sunday roast before going back outside.

STK London, Stratford – Rooftop Terrace Review

STK Whispering Angel Terrace

Cocktails and Small Plates in Style at STK London, Stratford As many regular Shopping Mall customers may tell you, after a few hours of browsing and buying ‘essentials’ I’m ready to escape the throngs.  Westfield Stratford is one of the busiest malls I know in the UK and it was a huge relief to find […]
