Mildreds – Plant Based Perfection in Soho

October 28, 2024 (2024-10-28T18:44:53+00:00) by Fiona Maclean Leave a Comment

Mildreds Soho plates and bowls

Mildreds really does offer fantastic food and drink for everyone, that just happens to be vegan.  You’ll find a lively atmosphere and welcoming staff – and with main courses under £20, it won’t break the bank.

Conveniently located on the busy Islington High Street and next to Angel tube station, The Peacock is a new offering for those seeking a historical visit to a famous London pub location and those looking for high-quality pub fare a stone’s throw from central London.

Duvale’s, Riverside East, Stratford – Sunday Roast in East London

October 26, 2024 (2024-10-26T15:50:53+01:00) by Sarah Trivuncic Leave a Comment

Sunday roast dinner beef option served at Duvale's Riverside East restaurant with cauliflower cheese and large Yorkshire pudding on top.

if you come knowing that this is a bright modern café-style venue with huge windows rather than somewhere intimate with rugs and armchairs to hide in a corner you can enjoy a hearty Sunday roast before going back outside.

Ristorante Serrae Villa Fiesole – Tuscan Fine Dining in Style

October 18, 2024 (2024-10-18T18:43:19+01:00) by Madeleine Morrow Leave a Comment

Serrae Ville Fiesole exterior view

Serrae at Villa Fiesole has achieved a mention in the Michelin Guide with Chef Sardi having been at the helm for only a short while. Surely it cannot be long before a star is bestowed. If you are in Florence, I heartily recommend that you book a table and take a taxi up into the hills for dinner. Even better, book to stay over at Hotel Villa Fiesole and make a night of it.

The Laundry Brixton – Sunday Roast

October 17, 2024 (2024-10-17T22:21:07+01:00) by Fiona Maclean Leave a Comment

Roast Sirloin at the Laundry Brixton

A Sunday Roast needs to be served in a convivial atmosphere. There’s no place for stuffiness or formality – you should be able to meet up with your friends and relax.  It goes without saying that the food should be excellent and generous – and you should feel happy to drift off home in a satiated state, realising you don’t need to eat again till Monday lunchtime.  The Laundry ticks all the boxes and I’m now thinking up excuses to go back.

The impressive work in the kitchen shines through in every dish, meticulously assembled with care and showcasing an interesting approach to flavour combinations that beautifully blend the influences of Mexican taquerias with vibrant Asian character.

Goldies London, wood-fired heaven in Soho- restaurant review

October 13, 2024 (2024-10-13T10:56:19+01:00) by Eliza Leng Leave a Comment

Goldies - Exterior

Goldies may be the new kid on the block among London’s wood-fired restaurants, but it’s definitely here to stay. The atmosphere has a Mediterranean vibe that makes you forget you’re in the heart of London, and it’s perfect for any occasion
