Fresh Italian Produce to your Door – NifeisLife:

It took me a while to work out where the curiously named NifeisLife originated.  Nice Italian Food of course…

Burrata Ham and Datterini Tomatoes

It’s a sentiment which I am sure any expat Italian living in London will agree with; the food you can find in supermarkets and most delis simply isn’t Italian.  It’s not fresh enough and it lacks the depth of flavour you get from the real thing.  Enter NifeisLife, an Italian online deli which also supplies to London’s top restaurants.  Focussing on some of the most challenging produce to transport, NifeisLife is particularly known for Buffalo Mozzarella di Campania and Burrata, fresh cheeses which are flown in twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays.  But, there’s a product range of over 1,500 Italian specialities now, from pre-made dishes through to Ferrarelle water.

NifeisLife Selection

We’ve reviewed NifeisLife before and been suitably impressed.  But, they’ve expanded their product range and their delivery network and now cover the whole of the UK.  So, I was lucky enough to receive a sample of products to review recently – a selection perfect for a light summer supper.  My box included: Buffalo Mozzarella DOP, artisan burrata from a small producer near Andria in Puglia, Taralli – little crunchy bread snacks, Prosciutto crudo di San Daniele, Ferrarelle water and octopus salad with Taggiasche olives.  There was also a large bag of Sicilian datterini tomatoes and a curious pot of something called burratini

NifeisLife Selection

I was particularly impressed with the burrata, better than many I’ve been served in Italian restaurants in London.  And, the Proscuitto was beautifully sweet, freshly cut and carefully packed so that none of it dried out.   We added a little seasonal asparagus, some salad and a crunchy ciabatta roll for the perfect dinner.

Octopus Salad

Octopus salad was delicious.  The tiny Taggiasche olives really complemented the salty octopus.  And, the whole mixture was beautifully seasoned and dressed in olive oil.

All in, a great way to experience a taste of Italy without leaving home.  NifeisLife now delivers across the country and offers a same-day delivery service in London – so when those friends call at short notice to tell you they are coming round, you can now order some of Italy’s finest produce straight to your door.
