90 minutes, 70 years, 11 scenes, 5 Marys and one extraordinary life – Mary Page Marlowe
The Old Vic is set to bring Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Tracy Letts’ Mary Page Marlowe to UK audiences for the very first time, with a star-studded cast led by Academy Award winner Susan Sarandon. Directed by the theatre’s Artistic Director Matthew Warchus, the play will run from 23 September to 1 November 2025.
Described as “90 minutes, 70 years, 11 scenes, 5 Marys and one extraordinary life,” Mary Page Marlowe offers a unique, time-jumping portrait of one woman’s life.
Joining Sarandon and Academy Award nominee Andrea Riseborough are a talented ensemble including Daniella Arthur-Kennedy (making her professional stage debut) as Lorna, Eden Epstein (Leopoldstadt, Broadway) as Roberta Marlowe, Clare Hughes (Ladies in Black) as Wendy Gilbert, Gilbert Kyem Jnr (Rivals) as Ben, Melanie La Barrie (Hadestown, West End) as Nurse, and Rosy McEwen (Blue Jean) as Mary Page Marlowe.
The role of Mary Page Marlowe will also be played by rising stars Alisha Weir (Matilda the Musical) and Eleanor Worthington-Cox (Next to Normal, West End), while Felix Anderson, Griffin Ashton, and Dexter Pulling will share the role of Louis. Other cast members include Kingsley Morton, Hugh Quarshie, Ronan Raftery, Paul Thornley, Lauren Ward, and Noah Weatherby.
The production boasts a creative team of award-winning talent, including Rob Howell (Set & Costume), Hugh Vanstone (Lighting), Simon Baker (Sound), and Penny Dyer (Dialect), with Lilac Yosiphon as Associate Director. The team is further supported by Emma Laxton (Associate Sound), Lucy Gaiger (Associate Costume), and Campbell Young Associates handling wigs, hair, and makeup.
Tickets are now on sale, ranging from £10 to £90, with concessions and special schemes available for students, seniors, under-16s, and local residents. The Old Vic also offers £10 previews for the first five performances, alongside group rates and loyalty rewards for theatre-goers.
