Fresh Lobster from Llyn Peninsula, Wales at Faber Restaurant, Hammersmith, London

Perhaps the best Lobster Roll in London I have a thing for lobster rolls. It started on regular trips to Boston a few years ago. I got into the rhythm of landing, clearing customs, checking in to my hotel and then, as usual after a long-haul flight, going for a walk. It’s hard not to […]

Does Mayfair’s Mazarine have London’s Most Interesting Fish Menu? Mazarine is a relatively new addition to the Mayfair dining scene, having opened in December 2025. It sits on the corner site of the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Hanover Square, although the restaurant is not part of the hotel. In charge of the kitchen is Thierry […]

Manzi's bar - one of the best London Fish Restaurants

Searching for the best London fish restaurants is a fascinating delve into the past. London’s relationship with fish is as old as the city itself, woven into its culinary and cultural history. From the bustling stalls of Billingsgate Market to the lavish dining rooms of iconic establishments like J. Sheekey and Scott’s, fish has always been a cornerstone of London’s gastronomic identity.

The Mayfair Chippy, Knightsbridge

MAYFAIR CHIPPY fish and chips

Anyone for ‘Posh’ Fish and Chips? Visiting Knightsbridge for fish and chips may not be the most obvious thing to do for the average Londoner. It’s where we go for a bit of high-end retail therapy at Harrods or Harvey Nichols. When we were invited to review the Knightsbridge branch of The Mayfair Chippy, the other one […]

Inside Wiltons’ Seafood Legacy: How a London Institution Keeps Its Edge Wiltons is a restaurant with a past so long and steady that it feels less like a business and more like a living narrative of London. Its history goes back to 1742, when George William Wilton sold oysters on the streets before moving into […]

Iberian Pigs Head amuse bouche at Angler

As the name suggests, Angler restaurant has a strong pescatarian bias and an emphasis on seasonal ingredients and modern British cooking techniques. The dishes are beautifully presented and focus on fresh, high-quality produce that highlights the ingredients.

Parsons – Contemporary Fish Restaurant with a Retro Feel

Whole Turbot at Parsons

From historic fish restaurants to newer openings, there are plenty of places to try everything from classic fish and chips to lobster and more. While Parsons is a relative newcomer, having opened in 2017, it has a retro feel. It reminded us of the old Wheeler’s oyster bars with vintage tiles, dark bentwood chairs, bottle green leather banquettes and raised marble bar seating.

Caviar House – Decadent Delights

January 4, 2025 (2025-01-04T09:25:17+00:00) by Dr Adrian York Leave a Comment

Caviar House Prunier caviar

I love eating caviar, preferably off a mother-of-pearl spoon and with either a glass of champagne or a chilled vodka shot. If I could do it every day, I would. When the opportunity came up to review Caviar House on Piccadilly, just down from Green Park tube, it would have been ill-mannered to refuse.
