Sparkling Dining at Selfridges, Oxford Street I used to be a West End girl, shopping in Selfridges and hopping on a Routemaster home – heck, I even had a Sears card when that was a thing, although I mainly used it in the Miss Selfridge concession. Twenty years later and I’m an East End girl, […]
Pyro – Restaurant of the Month
Pyro is a celebration of cooking over fire, where bold Greek flavours meet refined technique in a menu built for sharing. Led by Yiannis Mexis, whose pedigree includes Elystan Street, The Ledbury, and HIDE, this is a restaurant that blends serious culinary craft with the laid-back spirit of a Mediterranean gathering.
Hera, Greek restaurant launch, Stratford Cross
The Hera restaurant experience is a modern sophisticated setting bound to appeal to female friends seeking upmarket dining in Stratford. The goddess Hera presides over hearth and home, thus Hera aims to be “a gathering place where guests feel part of extended family.” These glass towers of E20 nod more to Dubai than the Aegean and the approach – for now at least – still resembles a building site. Doubtless, when Sadler’s Wells East and Everyman Stratford open, Hera will be matriarch at the heart of a lively leisure destination.

I first visited their Covent Garden branch when small sharing plates weren’t the norm, but they soon become very popular in the […]

But located just around the corner from the eponymous restaurant, Meraki Bar in Foley Street has the buzz of a well-kept secret, whispered amongst the ‘Now’ people… Launched […]
The Real Greek Goes Vegan
Greek Vegan Dining at the Real Greek, Reading The Real Greek has launched its full Vegan menu – a good excuse for me to revisit an old favourite with a new twist, my local Reading restaurant. I haven’t been here for a few weeks, but the manager recognises me and greets me and my date […]
