Modern Italian Menu with Neapolitan Pizza On arriving at ALFI, I had a sense of déjà vu: it’s in a unit that once housed a spacious Leon popular with my mum-and-baby friends. Returning 19 years later, my son and I were sampling ALFI’s authentic Neapolitan pizza rather than boxes of meatballs. I read that ALFI’s […]
Santa Maria Pizzeria, Kew
Two Neapolitan chaps, Angelo and Pasquale, veterans of the London pizzeria scene, opened the first Santa Maria pizzeria in Ealing on Valentine’s Day 2010 with a wood-fired oven imported from Italy. My eldest daughter was living in Ealing at the time and kept raving to me about this great local pizza restaurant that she regularly visited. Since then, the group has expanded with openings in Paddington, Islington, Fulham, Fitzrovia and Kew, where we have been invited to review.
Napoli on the Road, Chiswick
Savouring Neapolitan Bliss at Napoli on the Road I am a local in the Chiswick area and an Italian friend of mine recently recommended visiting Napoli on the Road which is tucked away on Devonshire Road. So, I jumped at the opportunity to go along and try their Neapolitan pizzas. Napoli on the Road is […]

Rocket Leisure have cleverly reinvented the […]
Bellillo Italian Restaurant Fulham- Review
Fulham’s Neighbourhood Bit of Naples – Bellillo. I went on a trip to Naples a few years ago to try to locate the best Neapolitan pizza. Sadly I got ill and couldn’t fulfil the mission, but with exciting new pizzerias like Bellillo opening up in London maybe I can save myself the airfare? Bellillo is […]
The Mother of all pizzas comes to Battersea
Via Copenhagen! Mother Restaurant. The original Mother pizza restaurant is based in the trendy meat-packing district of the Danish capital and has, over the past 10 years, obtained quite a bit of a cult following – particularly for their signature sourdough pizzas made with purified seawater. Mother London opened their pizzeria on the banks of […]
The Perfect Homemade Pizza
Easy Homemade Pizza. I can’t think of another time I’ve been excited about a small sheet of metal! But, as someone who loves cooking but who doesn’t generally use a lot of gadgets, I’m seriously impressed with my new Pizza Steel. It came with two ‘slides’ – fine stainless steel sheets that you use to […]
Mozzarella Season at Rossopomodoro Chelsea
Rossopomodoro – a taste of Naples in Chelsea The exterior of Rossopomodoro is an unremarkable restaurant front almost opposite Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. I’ve passed it by many times – I had no reason to believe that it would be different to any other pizzeria in London. Invited to take part in a celebration for […]
