Nut Tree Inn
The Nut Tree Inn is a local village pub, and while clearly popular for a drink, it is also a destination restaurant for those of us who are not fortunate enough to call it our local. The pub was bought in 2006 by chef Mike North and his wife, Imogen, who live next door with their family. Two years after they took over the pub, it was awarded a Michelin star – along with 3 AA rosettes – which it has retained ever since 2008.
A Taste of the Festive Menu at The Parlour
Fabulous Festive Lunch at the Parlour, Great Scotland Yard Hotel When the Christmas rush is in full swing, slipping into The Parlour at the Great Scotland Yard Hotel feels like a bit of quiet relief. Tucked away in Westminster, just a short walk from the crowds around Trafalgar Square, it will give you space to […]
The Circus Afternoon Tea – Vintry & Mercer Hotel
The Vintry & Mercer Circus afternoon tea is a high-quality, thoughtful and delicious tea, and I really enjoyed sharing it with my son. It was a lovely, colourful treat on a wintry day. The service was excellent, and the place was relaxed. After we finished, I went up to the hotel’s beautiful roof terrace, where they serve the Crown Afternoon Tea, to take in the view of London rooftops and St Paul’s Cathedral.
Roti Chai, Modern Indian Restaurant in London
Roti Chai is such a fun and innovative restaurant with real authenticity on show. I always say it’s simple enough to find an Indian restaurant, but genuinely hard to find a good one, and Roti Chai truly fits the bill. The food is utterly delicious, the service impeccable, and the lively buzz of the place really adds to the experience.
Oui Madame, Highbury
A Secret Worth Finding in North London There’s a particular thrill in stumbling upon a newly opened restaurant, especially one as discreetly enchanting as this North London newcomer. It is surprisingly easy to miss, and we walked past it twice, so keep your eyes peeled. Hidden behind the stylish façade of Sawyer & Gray, a […]
Rabbit, Chelsea – Sunday Lunch
Rabbit, one of the Gladwin Brothers’ Local and Wild group, is a quirky bistro on the King’s Road in Chelsea. It is the sort of place that could just as easily be picked up by its ears and set down in a market town such as Lewes, Marlborough or Bury St Edmunds, where it would be a haven for busy families and a welcome escape from cooking without losing the magic of a properly prepared roast.
CORD by Le Cordon Bleu – Festive Menu
A calm, elegant escape for festive fine dining in the heart of London It’s December, and London is glowing with fairy lights, busy with shoppers and filled with the clink of glasses from office Christmas parties. Yet even with all the festive buzz, I hadn’t really slipped into the mood for seasonal dining until now. […]
Sartoria Launceston Place
This chi-chi locale has long been in need of a good quality neighbourhood restaurant. With a bar, breakfast opening and a weekday and Sunday lunch offer on top of the à la carte menu, Sartoria Launceston Place is well positioned to do just that.
The Shed: Farm to Fork Restaurant in Notting Hill
Since opening in 2012, The Shed has established itself as a Notting Hill favourite. It’s part of the Gladwin brothers’ “Local & Wild” family – a trio of foodie siblings who also run a farm and vineyard in Sussex -whose aim is to transport diners from the polished streets of Notting Hill to the rustic warmth of the countryside.
