Boxcar Bar & Grill Marylebone

December 4, 2024 (2024-12-04T09:40:48+00:00) by Lucy Foxell Leave a Comment

If Boxcar Bar & Grill isn’t on your radar yet, it absolutely should be. With its inviting charm, thoughtful menu, and one of the best Sunday roasts in town, it’s a dining experience that promises to linger long after the plates are cleared.

Hera, Greek restaurant launch, Stratford Cross

December 1, 2024 (2024-12-01T20:35:45+00:00) by Sarah Trivuncic Leave a Comment

Hera Greek Restaurant, Stratford Cross interior shot with serving staff, decorative hanging lights and orange banquet seating.

The Hera restaurant experience is a modern sophisticated setting bound to appeal to female friends seeking upmarket dining in Stratford. The goddess Hera presides over hearth and home, thus Hera aims to be “a gathering place where guests feel part of extended family.” These glass towers of E20 nod more to Dubai than the Aegean and the approach – for now at least – still resembles a building site. Doubtless, when Sadler’s Wells East and Everyman Stratford open, Hera will be matriarch at the heart of a lively leisure destination.

Sunday Roast at The Lamb Inn

Beef roast, The Lamb Inn

The Lamb Inn is certainly deserving of its acclaim, in the small village of Little Milton it is worth a trip into this part of Oxfordshire to enjoy high-end British pub cuisine in comfortable surroundings, particularly cosy as the night draws in around Christmas time.

Il Pampero and the festive garden terrace at the Hari

The Hari exterior

The Hari has also transformed its Garden Terrace into a sparkling winter wonderland, adorned with gorgeous festive decorations by Atelier Emmanuel. Frost-touched foliage, traditional yule blooms, and a twinkling Christmas tree create a magical atmosphere.

The Loch and The Tyne - a perfect Sunday Lunch with a Walk

Pairing a scenic walk with a leisurely Sunday lunch is a popular choice, and the Loch and the Tyne in Old Windsor offers the perfect destination. This charming restaurant/gastropub with rooms by chef Adam Handling is ideally situated to cater for weekend visitors.

Sunday roast at The Marquee Moon, Dalston

November 27, 2024 (2024-11-27T13:52:53+00:00) by Sarah Trivuncic Leave a Comment

Sunday roast dinner of braised pork belly, parsnip puree, peas, Yorkshire pudding, carrots and roast baby potatoes.

Most dining tables inside had signs denoting they’d been prebooked thus you’d be wise to do the same on Sundays. Couples can also eat at tall tables with bar stools closer to the DJ booth. Children and dogs were present although it’s definitely more “street” than pub-meets-soft-play-area (thank goodness). The Marquee Moon is a new moon but the East London fashionistas look like they will wax lyrical about it.

Bricco e Bacco, Charlotte Street, London

Exterior of Bricco e Bacco, Charlotte Street

If you are looking for beautifully aged beef with a selection of Italian-style side dishes, starters and desserts, you won’t find anything better than Bricco e Bacco, a traditional Sicilian style steak house.

Silva – Restaurant of the Month

November 25, 2024 (2024-11-25T12:06:18+00:00) by Madeleine Morrow Leave a Comment

Silva wild seabass and Creedy Carver duck breast

Silva styles itself as having a day-to-night ambience welcoming modern Londoners to a dining experience that is ‘refined and refreshingly relaxed’. I am not sure what a ‘modern’ Londoner is or whether I fit that description, but I opt for an early dinner time slot at the end of the week.
